“I am proud to have been a trustee of Women Connect First since 2015. The orgnisation is run by, and for, BAME women and its services are based on a deep understanding of our women’s experiences and resources and their needs and wishes. The centre in South Riverside is a haven for many BAME women and their families and a multi-cultural and multi-lingual hive of creativity and activity. So many great services are run from there. This includes IT and ESOL classes, the wonderful Little Rainbows Nursery, After School clubs, health and wellbeing support, hate crime awareness raising and our new World Cafe Meals on Wheels (providing delicious meals for those struggling with Covid-19 pressures).
This organisation punches above its weight and influences local and national government policy through its contribution to the recent Hearing the Voices of BAME Women in Wales Research project.”
