Women Connect First is a registered charity led by and for Black, Asian and other minoritised women and girls.
We have been working for over two decades to improve the lives of minoritised women and girls from our centre in Riverside in Cardiff, at the heart of the city’s ethnic minority communities. We work with particularly high numbers of Black and Asian women, but have minority women of almost every conceivable ethnic background making up our diverse base of staff, trustees, volunteers and beneficiaries.
Our is to maximise the participation of minoritised women and their families in opportunities that bring together people from diverse backgrounds to learn together, support each other, shape and influence services and promote greater understanding of and integration into Welsh life.
We provide a wide range of free holistic services to disadvantaged ethnic minority women, young girls and children. These include advice & advocacy, physical health and mental wellbeing activities, ESOL and ICT classes promoting digital Inclusion, a community cafe, services for older BME women, volunteering opportunities, a creche and after school clubs.
