The Rainbow crèche is held on the ground floor and garden area of Women Connect First’s main office and is easily is accessible for all pre-schoolers. As an organisation we employ a team of childcare workers. All of our workers are qualified level 3 or 5 in Children’s Care Learning & Development. They also have training in First Aid, Safeguarding, as well as Level 2 in Food Hygiene, Language & Play and Working with Children who have Additional Needs.
In the Rainbow crèche we try to create an environment that encourages independence and confidence, supporting them in their learning and growing and preparing them for when they will start school.
We do this by planning activities based around the things that interests the children and ones that fit into their individual stages of development. All of our activities are designed to ensure that the children work and play together developing their communication and social skills. The activities also allows them to have fun, stay enthused, inspired and eager to learn.
It’s important for pre-schoolers to have time and space where they can be with other children of their age group. It is during this time that the children are exposed to the outside world for the first time. This also means, they have to leave the comfort and security of a parent/family and face everything that’s lying beyond their home, adjusting to meeting new adults who will be responsible for their care and early education.
Children learn routines, learn to share with others, and are taught how to deal with their emotions and express themselves all these and other things they learn are essential for children as they grow and develop.
