World Café on Wheels

The project is funded by Welsh Government and aims to deliver free healthy and nutritious meals daily to the most vulnerable and affected by Covid-19 in our BAME community. World Café on Wheels don’t just deliver food. World Café on Wheels also CONNECTS with the community. Every day they check up on our beneficiaries, chat to them and make sure they are okay, to make them feel like they are not alone and that we are here to help.

The project aims to target families with low income, single mothers, disabled women and carers in addition to older BAME women, who are isolating during lockdown and have poor health and nutrition conditions, Unemployed or are on a low income due to COVID-19, disabled, those who suffer from different health conditions as rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, fibromyalgia, dementia, Parkinson’s & heart problems, those that deal with mental health problems and loneliness.

The Team

World café on wheels deliver to places around Cardiff; Riverside, Canton, Gabalfa, Roath, Cathays, Tremorfa, Splott, Grangetown, Pen-y-lan, St. Mellons, & Penarth and currently more than 38 people have been enjoying fresh meals in the first month of operation.

Over 600 meals have been delivered in the first month along and the numbers are still increasing.
